The arts are heavily represented, the museums are great, and the countryside is right at your doorstep in the form of beautiful parks and preserves, from the Botanical Gardens to the National Sea Life Centre. Since the 90s, the centre has been pedestrianized and is full of attractive walkways and modern buildings, it's easy to get around on foot, and public transportation is excellent if you need to go further.
