It’s always a stressful time for the maid of honour; there is so much pressure to achieve the greatest last night of freedom imaginable. But while organising sounds boring and stressful, we do believe that organising a hen weekend for your best friend should be fun! Whether you decide to go away, to somewhere like Ibiza, Valencia, Paris etc…or you decide to stay in the UK, planning the hen weekend should be as fun as the weekend itself. Now, it can be. With our help and experience, it will become a fun and rewarding task to take on.
Hen & Stag Weekends will alleviate some of the stress from your shoulders so that you can experience smooth sailing in regards to organising a hen weekend.
Here are some great tips and ideas for planning the perfect hen weekend:
First things first, get a few ideas in mind of where you think she would like to go and what she would like to do. Get the girls together and decide on 2 or 3 ideas.
Then there is putting an all-important budget in place. Once you have locations for all of your desired activities, it’s time to start booking and bulking up the hen night’s affairs.
This is where the originality and style comes into play; you have to ensure that you find a hen weekend destination and activity that the bride to be will love and it has got to be unpredictable.
The location, the hotel, the activity, the VIP treatment; whatever you choose to do, it has to be booked well in advance. Large groups are harder to place in a short amount of time, book early to ensure that your first choice is the one you get.
Making sure that you have all the plans sorted in advance which are clearly communicated to the girls going, will keep the party spirits high when you are enjoying the weekend. There will be no long registrations and that leaves so much more time to have fun!
Pre-paid activities are always much easier for your girls to know where they stand. Prepay for your activity, for your meals and the first couple drinks if possible, and collect the funds from each of the girls in advance. It makes things a lot easier when on the hen for everyone and ensures less stress on both you and the bride to be.
While prepaid nights are great, make sure the budget for the evening or weekend is accurate; money can cause rifts so it is vital that limits are set on things like travel, drinks, accommodation and activities.
The bride to be may be extremely anxious during the hen weekend and it’s vital that she shouldn’t feel the need to play host, ensure she has a drink in her hand during the hen and a smile on her face at all times and you’ll be fine.
And don’t forget to take a camera, capture each moment because you may not be able to remember it in the morning. Just make sure you vet them all before sharing them on Facebook!
