Common knowledge tells us that organising a wedding is a stressful and tiresome task, and the hen do is a chance for the bride to enjoy ‘single life’ for one last time, and for her closest friends to take her mind off that everlasting list of wedding to-dos! With flights being as cheap as chips (so long as you book in advance) a hen party abroad has never been so easy. This is the bride’s last hoorah as a ‘Miss’, so you’ll want to make it a truly spectacular event. As the hen and stag experts, we have created a list of our top tips when it comes to planning the ultimate hen do abroad, stress-free!
PLAN AHEAD
In order to get the best deals for the all-important hen party, you want to make sure you start planning as soon as you can. Remember the phrase ‘the early bird catches the worm’? It couldn’t be truer! If you want the cheapest flights and hotel rates, research is your best friend. You should shop around for the best deals and look at all those comparison sites (it may seem tedious but it’s better than paying a fortune, right?!) It goes without saying, the earlier you book the more likely you’ll get that 5* beach apartment with private limousine transport.
Make Your Budget Clear
When organising the hen do, it is important that you consider everyone that is invited. This means you need price people in regardless of whether you like them or not – if the bride wants them there, you make sure they are there (that’s just a little tip from us to keep everyone happy)! Dealing with the finances can be a bit of a daunting task, so why not ask one of the other girls to be in charge of the cash? Besides, she can keep an eye on the kitty when you can’t. It’s a win-win.
Choose Accommodation Wisely
When it comes to accommodation, the earlier you book the better. Better prices, better hotels, and better locations. One of the most important things to remember when booking accommodation is to consider which options are closer to the chosen activities. You don’t want to have to spend a fortune on taxis, driving all across the city for hours on end. You also need to consider whether the bride fancies some special treatment, like champagne on arrival or free spa treatments.
Itineraries Are Important
Nobody likes being restricted by time scales and plans, but even the most relaxed hen do needs some sort of outline. After all, you don’t want to be waiting on some of the girls to get ready only to miss your reservations! Itineraries are a great way to get organised and to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. They can be as detailed or as simple as you need them to be, but just make sure everyone knows what is going on, when and where. If you’d rather not waste time make an itinerary, we are happy to get all that sorted for you when you book with us.
Expect The Unexpected
Regardless of how meticulously you’ve planned the hen do, you can bet that not everything will go as smoothly as expected. Although this can sometimes work in your favour, it pays to be prepared in case things get a little too out of hand! Even the littlest things like making sure you all have the name and address to your accommodation in case you accidentally get split up, or having a map of the city each can help reduce any of those major problems that could occur. Safety is important above all else, so make sure you all know the phone number for the company’s emergency services.
