Amsterdam has fast become one of the most popular destinations in the Netherlands, having recently grown into the perfect destination for stag party weekends. Compared to London or Paris, the city used to be like a kid brother who didn’t want to grow up; it was a playground where all involved were guaranteed a good time. In terms of things to do, an Amsterdam stag weekend has something for everyone, so depending on where you go or what you fancy, this city can cater for you.

It is an amazing and hugely popular destination for stag weekends away. And of course, it boasts drinking, ladies and the infamous coffee shops - so it basically mirrors what lads want out of their stag weekend, right? It has a friendly and relaxed environment, so you won’t feel like a fish out of water here, and it is very inviting and positive place to be too.

THE VAN GOGH MUSEUM

The world’s largest collection from the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh features more than 200 paintings and 600 drawings. This would be a great thing to go and see for an art enthusiast. The Van Gogh Museum gets amazing reviews and it’s definitely a great place to visit while you are in the Netherlands. 

Rent a beer bike and get exploring

This is one of Amsterdam’s novelties and it is a fun way of experiencing the city whilst getting the evening started with the lads. Grab a map and venture out into the city on one of Amsterdam's awesome beer bikes. There is lots to see so we recommend getting yourself a tour guide, but whimsically touring around the city works too. Beer bikes are definitely the best way to explore one of the Netherlands's most famous cities, and a start contrast to all those boring tours from back in your school days! 

AMSTERDAM COFFEE SHOPS

There are around 200 coffee shops in Amsterdam, and a great deal  of them are in one distinct area. The menu here is unlike any you've probably seen before, with the regular coffees and teas, but also an assortment of cannabis and cannabis filled items. You won't get this kind of custom anywhere else! An Amsterdam coffee shop tour is one of the best ways to explore the dutch culture. 

HEINEKEN EXPERIENCE

If you love beer, then this is a must do! This is the second or third largest beer maker in the world, depending on who you talk to. This is a great way to warm up your cockles and get you and the boys bonded for the huge stag night ahead. The Heineken experience is a tour of the world renowned brewery, followed by a session of beer tasting and finished off with an epic pub crawl. Who knows? You may even learn a thing or two to show off to your friends back at home...

THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT

There is so much to do in Amsterdam's infamous Red Light District, okay, so this would definitely be for the more deviant lads but, let’s just say if you’re looking for “sex, drugs and/or rock ‘n’ roll” you’ll find all you need in Amsterdam. Then it’s off to the bars, bars with babes or just your regular bar in the city, you decide, both boast a huge array of beers and spirits and you can even get your hands on some spirits unique to Amsterdam, if you dare.
